The Broderick released their first demo in 2006. This was all Australian label Washed Up Records needed to hear before they offered
them a deal. They then went on to release their first EP entitled Illusion Over Despair in 2008. The Broderick's sound can best be
described as "Technical In-Your-Face Hardcore" similar to that of Converge and early Norma Jean.
