Bone, who died in 1990 due to an overdose on heroin. After Wood's death, Mother Love Bone split, but Wood's bandmates Jeff Ament (bass) and
Stone Gossard (guitar) decided to continue working together. Before Ament and Gossard formed a new band, they assembled Temple of the Dog,
recruiting Chris Cornell (vocals) and Matt Cameron (drums) of Soundgarden to form the core of the group. Temple of the Dog also featured
contributions from vocalist Eddie Vedder and guitarist Mike McCready.
