The group first became noticed when their cover of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb" was picked up in the UK by DJs for dance clubs. The release of this single as well as "Take Your Mama" and "Filthy/Gorgeous" soon afterward were all successful singles in the UK. Their self titled debut album would reach no. 1 on the UK Albums Chart as well as be the highest seller in 2004. Despite their popularity overseas, the band have only had limited impact in their home country.

Work on the second album, Ta-Dah, began in 2005. The group fulfilled one of their dreams by collaborating with Elton John, who appeared on tracks "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'" and "Intermission". The former track would also become the group's biggest single reaching no. 1 in the UK, Australian ARIA Singles Chart and the Euro Hot 100.
