From the time of the band's inception to their hiatus, the band's lineup underwent significant changes, with vocalist Jon Spencer (from the album Cult Classic) leaving to join Spitfire, a fellow Virginia metalcore band, and vocalist Brandon Roundtree (from the album This Was Always Meant to Fall Apart) leaving to join Conditions. Infusing progressive influences (both in terms of rhythms and structure) with metalcore, in a way similar to Dillinger Escape Plan, Scarlet creates a focused maelstrom of sound, never ceasing to calm. With pounding drums and tapping guitars creating polyrhythmic textures underneath frantically aggressive vocals, Scarlet is sure to leave its listeners with a strong impression. « hide
