Saruganseki was a Japanese owarai duo. The duo were probably more well known for their musical career than their owarai career. Their 1996 debut single, "Shiroi Kumo no You ni", reached number 3 on the Oricon charts, became the 11th best selling single of 1997, and also eventually sold a million copies. The duo's only full length album, 1997's "Magure", reached number 2 on the Oricon charts, although by early 1998, it appeared that Saruganseki's mainstream potential significantly faded. Their final single, 1999's "My Revolution", only reached number 71 on the charts, and Saruganseki would go on to be active until their official disbandment in 2004.
