After releasing three albums through an indie metal label, SABER TIGER signed their first major contract with Tokuma Japan Communications. In 1998, talented singer Takenori Shimoyama was inserted into the band.
The resulting albums revealed a new maturity and improved their commercial and critical standing in the Japanese charts, adding yet another epic chapter in the band's career. In 2002, due to different musical ideas and goals, Shimoyama left the band to pursue his own ambitions in the heavy metal music scene.

In 2010, SABER TIGER officially announced a reunion with Takenori Shimoyama, reforming the band into its best line-up ever. Former member Yasuharu "Machine" Tanaka (guitars) also rejoined the ranks of SABER TIGER with newcomers Takanobu Kimoto (bass) and Yasuhiro Mizuno (drums) completing the band. « hide
