SD at first glance may look like a baby-faced high school sophomore, but the 20 year old Chicago native is anything but adolescent. Born and
raised in the perilous South Side, SD as taken his circumstances and effectively transfused everything into his music. SD’s Life of A Savage
1,2,3 and 4 series of mixtapes received critical acclaim and millions of downloads which have been defining compositions that placed him on the
forefront of new artists. Life of a Savage 3 and 4 in particular perfectly showcased his growth and dexterity with regards to his musical selection
and aficionados . A self proclaimed ‘Savage’, SD describes his definition of the term as someone who is dealt an unbearable hand of cards yet is
still able to successfully persevere and rise above to his/her greater purpose in life. SD’s signature musical style isn’t rap, drill, hip-hop, or trap,
he states, he simply “creates music with no barriers”. His songs are infused with drums, bass, EDM, stoner, rock and minimalist rap elements
which allows his fans to feel his music and connect with him cerebrally as an artist and originator. In November 2014 he released a song with
Parisian super producer Brosinski on Cant Help Myself which showed yet another facet of SD. He attributes his success to a mature outlook on
life, due to growing up in the reality that any day could be your last, on the war comparable streets of Chicago. Looking forward from where he
came from, SD says that his driving force in his life are his son and daughter who show him a higher purpose for his life than hanging out on
the block and possibly getting locked up or dying. This coming quarter he is set to release his next compilation of music aptly titled “Just The
Beginning”, which will both break down musical barriers for rappers from Chicago as well as personal milestones he set for himself. After
launching Truly Blessed Productions in 2014, SD plans on continuing to release his music independently in addition to creating launching pads for
his roster of artists that he is currently developing, executive producing and prepping for release 1st quarter of 2016. « hide |
