metal band.First known as Asinine and initially started in 1998, Psychostick has bounced from the wretched grasp of Odessa,
Texas to the hellishly hotPhoenix, Arizona. Here we shall remain, flowing in the veins of a thick music scene, unless the road
beckonsfor touring. As Josh, the Guitarist, would say, "We're tired of the 'tough guy' images and the super seriousness that so
many metal bandscarry nowadays." Psychostick takes humor and slapstick, mixes it to a puree, and bakes to a crisp, tasty heavy
metal.
Once Psychostick was known as Asinine. Asinine was formed in mid 1998 out of Odessa, Texas, also know as, "The Land of No
Future." Astime progressed, the band members changed between 6 different people and counting. Well, I guess that means
we're picky.
The interesting part is, Josh (currently the guitarist) went from playing trap, to playing bass, then taking the frontman position,
and nowplaced and wholly dedicated as the Guitarist. He cycled throughout all 4 of the main metal band instuments. Talk about
open minded.
The biggest change happened to the band when Marvin, Bozzy, and Steve were left behind by Josh as he relocated to Phoenix,
Arizona. Theydon't hold a grudge against poor Joshy, for they also have enough ambition to leave Odessa and venture out to the
world of opportunity aswell. Which is everything outside of Odessa, basically.
Anyway, the story behind the name, 'Psychostick' isn't very interesting. But I shall tell it, and you shall listen.
Robby (now the frontman) was half-asleep one night, with visions of candy canes and moon pies dancing through his head.
Then, he awoke,stepped out into the living room where Josh was strumming an acoustic, and said, "I thought of a band
name."And it was so.
Josh and Robby (mostly Josh) put up flyers and advertised for two lucky (heh) individuals to take the places of DRUMMAR and
bass-guy.First they came upon Alex, a snot-nosed little 15 year old guy who's philosphy was, "If it can bleed, we can kill it." But
his mentality andintensity was perfect for what they were looking for (not to mention the MADSKILLZ), so Alex took the part of
DRUMMAR!
As for HUNTAR the HAND LOTION ? , he found our ad and called us. We met up with him, played a couple times, saw he had
what we'relooking for, and it was good. Quite good.The members are there. The music is there. They have the ability, the
intensity, and the stupidity. Can they live up to the old Asinine ways,and THEN SOME?
