The Power of Zeus was formed in 1970, by guitarist and vocalist Joe Periano and bassist Bill Jones, drummer Bob Michalski, and various instrument player Dennie Webber. The group gathered under Akarma Label, and created one of the first hard rock albums of the 70's, The Gospel According to Zeus, a mix of psychedelic and hard rock. That would be the last album they would release, as the band started to hit the East Coast club curcuit to some success, then completely disappearing from the face of the music industry. Since then, The Gospel According to Zeus has been highly sought after by hard rock, psychedelic, and freakbeat fans around the world. More than 30 years after its release, Gospel According to Zeus peeked at #25 on the Billboard 200.
