Orchestra Baobab are a Senegalise group that fuse Cuban, Wolof and Mandinga music. They were one of the more sucessful African groups in the 70s and 80s, however, their most critically acclaimed and famous album, Pirate's Choice, was only released in 1989 outside Africa, two years after the band had split up. It was the re-release of this album in 2001 with added bonus tracks that caused their reformation in the same year, and continue to perform now.
