Om
Metal, Psychedelic

Om is a stoner doom band formed by the rhythm section of the disbanded stoner metal giant Sleep, Al Cisneros on vocals andbass and Emil Amos (Chris Hakius until 2008) on drums. Their music is similar in structure to Tibetan and Byzantine chant and is rich in rhythm andmelody. Their music and lyrics lift off at the beginning and slowly mutate giving a feeling of evolution inside each song.

Also, 'Om' is the Hindu syllable known as the natural vibration of the universe, often used as a mantra (a rhythmic ritual wordthat Hindus use and repeat for a long time when getting in trance mental states).
