Northlane are a 5 piece metal outfit based in Sydney NSW who have been writing music and touring with a strong work ethic all
over the country since mid 2009. After a number ofearly member changes, Northlane put together their current lineup in July
2010 before setting out on their “Anchors and Hopes” tour of the eastern states.
Since finalising their lineup, Northlane has travelled all over the country playing tracks from their debut E.P. “Hollow Existence,”
which was self released by the band in January 2010,and songs from their upcoming album “Discoveries” which is planned to be
released midway through 2011.
Northlane have received an extremely positive reception following the release of “Hollow Existence” less than a year after
forming as a band. The debut C.D. has received acclaimfrom a number of different websites all over the world including the
Australian website Kill Your Stereo who reviewed the C.D. with a very positive 80/100, claiming that “HollowExistence is of an
admirable and mature standard, a vital quality that is rapidly becoming extinct in most up-and-coming Australian bands”.
Northlane have also recently been featured numerous times in a number of magazines including Australia’s leading alternative
music magazine Blunt. They have been given promisingreviews by Blunt and were recently named as one of the “bands to hype
in 2011” where they were described as “an ever-present force to be reckoned with” in Australian music thatare “planning to take
the country hostage in 2011” 2011 has already started with a bang for Northlane who have stretched their popularity not only
from their home state but to allcorners of the country. Within the first month of the New Year they have already played to
crowds Victoria, New South Wales and Perth.
It should be noted that Northlane have done all of the above on a completely DIY basis, to this day they are label independent,
self-managed, self-funded and until early 2011 self-booked.
Northlane are currently working on their debut full-length release "Discoveries" due out in the second half of 2011 « hide |
