Back in 2007 when I first discovered this band, it was only Matt, Doug and Brendan playing
together. I had shown up at a local bar in the Quinte area with a friend who was getting her
paycheck. A few drinks later and a performance by Ill Scarlet, the trio took over the stage, and my
heart. I couldn't believe my ears. Where did these guys come from? And, with mine and my friend's
interest and ties in local indie bands, why in the world had we not been exposed to this music
sooner. We were in awe.
Thank goodness for facebook.
After some searching online and contacting some people, I ended up finding out all I needed to know
plus managed to get my hands on a demo album with 3 songs on it; Save Me, Can't Forget You and
Sorry.
It wasn't long before my heart's desire for more had me graciously and casually promoting these 3
anywhere and everywhere I could. I was lucky enough to get to hang out with them and become
acquainted.
After their success at Bandwarz that same year (2007), they were blessed with the addition of Paulo
Neta.
My first time seeing them play together...my response "Wow, these guys have come a long way in so
little time!.
In 2008, the won first place St. Catharines' 97.7FM Rocksearch.
The 4 band members chemistry on stage have proven to give fans the desire for more and more.
Their fans are dedicated and beyond supportive of their rise to fame. MDD has a MySpace page with
6 great songs on it, they have a facebook group and fan page and recently there has been a fan who
has created a WHOLE forum dedicated just for the band. They have a connection with their crowd,
there's no denying that if you've ever seen them play live.
At this time they have not released an album and are still independent. But, it's not going to be long
before they skyrocket up on the charts.
As I myself learn more about them, their career and their success, I will continue to update this
space; as those who love them want to pass that on to everyone.
