Maschera was a Japanese visual kei band that originally formed in 1992. Initially, the group had a gothic-influenced sound,
which often seemed to took influence from bands like The Cure. Although, by 1997, Maschera did a complete 180 with their
music style, which sounded like a blend of pop rock and electropop. This style transition seemed to work for Maschera for a
while, and the group had mild mainstream success throughout the remainder of the 1990's. However, Maschera ended up
eventually splitting by 2000.
