MUCC

The band was formed in Ibaraki in 1997. The original member line-up was Tatsurou on vocals, Miya on guitar, Hiro on bass andSatochi ondrums. In the following year the band released 2 demo tapes. In February 1999, the band had their first live atMito Lighthouse. Bassist Hiroleft the band and was replaced by Yukke, a childhood friend of Miya. In December, their first CDalbum "Antiiku" was released.The name MUCC comes from a character of a Japanese kids' show. Aremastered and remixed version of this album was later releasedin June.

In 2002, MUCC starts their own label named "Shu", under Danger Crue records and release the album Homura Uta whichbecomes asucess in Japan and puts the spotlight on the band.Including "Tsuzetsu" and "Homura Uta" the band has in totalreleased 10 full-length albums the latest one beeing "Karma" which wasreleased October 6th in 2010.The band has gottensome attention overseas as well and has played on both European and Northamerican tours, in Japan they have playedon bigarenas as the "Nippon Budokan".

MUCC has a hard rock sounds similiar to a lot of other Japanese rock bands but also mixes in different elements like blues andmetal. Theirstyle of music has changed quite a bit during their career.

Both MUCC's label and the vocalist Tatsuro has helped other bands out to get attention, most notably the band "Girugämesh"which hasalso gotten attention overseas. « hide
