The band was formed in Ibaraki, Japan in 1997. The original member line-up was Tatsurou on vocals, Miya on guitar, Hiro on
bass and Satochi on drums. The name MUCC comes from a character of a Japanese kids' show. The band has gotten some
attention overseas as well and has played on both European and North American tours. In their home country of Japan, they
have notably played at the Nippon Budokan, which is arguably the most significant live arena in all of Japan. MUCC has a hard
rock sounds similar to a lot of the other Japanese visual rock bands, although their musical style has also taken influence from
avant-garde, punk, grunge and pop.
