MGMT is a synthpop group formed in 2002 in New York. The band consists of multi-instrumentalists: Andrew Vanwyngarden (vocals, guitar, keyboards) and Ben Goldwasser (vocals, keyboards, synths, drums), both alumni of Wesleyan University. Originally the band was named “Management,” but it was later changed when they found out there were several other bands with that name.
