Kenny Burrell is for certain one of the most prominent guitarists of his genre.
Burrell's career began in 1951 while studying at Wayne State University, when he recorded his first album with Dizzy Gillespie's sextet. Burrell graduated in
1955 and toured with Oscar Peterson, and moved to New York City shortly afterwards. Burrell recorded his 99th album in 2007 at the UCLA Royce Hall, and
currently serves as Director of Jazz Studies at UCLA.
