An avant-garde musician who generally works within the boundaries of jazz, John Zorn's career has seen him record some of the noisiest, most ferociously experimental music in the genre, often inspired by grindcore and hardcore punk (particularly when recording with Naked City, the band he formed in 1988 with several other experimental jazz musicians). He has also written several film scores and a handful of classical compositions.
