James Taylor
Country, Folk

James Taylor's career began when he signed onto the Beatles' new record label, Apple Records, and started releasing mainly acoustic, soulful songs to a jaded and forlorn generation. Some of his earliest hits were inspired by depression and drug abuse, but these issues were never dealt with directly; Taylor only alluded to them through obscure imagery and complex metaphors.
