The duo has earned two platinum albumsand three gold albums, but they have been criticizedfor the violent content and perceived immaturity of their lyrics. Originally formed under thename "Inner City Posse", Bruce andUtsler changed the name after being prompted by a dream containing a vision resembling a travelingcarnival. The dream alsoinspired the introduction of supernatural- and horror-themed lyrics. The pair founded an independent record label,PsychopathicRecords, with Alex Abbiss as manager, produced and starred in a feature film, Big Money Hustlas, formed their ownwrestlingfederation, Juggalo Championship Wrestling, and collaborated with many famous hip hop and rock musicians. Thethemes of Insane ClownPosse and other acts on Psychopathic Records center on the mythology of the Dark Carnival, which theduo says is a spiritual force that hasrevealed a series of stories known as "Jokers Cards". These stories each offer a specificlesson designed to change the "evil ways" of listenersbefore "the end consumes us all". Insane Clown Posse has dedicatedfollowers, whom they call Juggalos and Juggalettes. « hide
