HIM is a five-piece Finnish love metal band. Although many perceive them as a new act, HIM has been active for well over 15
years. HIM used to stand for "His Infernal Majesty" as an insult to the Rastafarian religion but they have since dropped the
abbreviation. They play melodic goth rock, or"Love Metal". They were brought a great deal of success and notoriety due to pro.
skateboarder Bam Margera's use of their "heartagram" logo on his own line of skateboards and clothing and referencing HIM as
"the greatest band of all time" on their albums and in his CKY home movies. HIM's front man Ville Valo writes most of the music
and his lyrics deal with the pros and cons of being in love or how every good thing has a negative aspect to it.
