Flatlinerz

Formed in 1992, Flatlinerz main lineup included Russell Simmons' nephew, Redrum, and fellow rappers Gravedigger and Tempest. In late 1993, Flatlinerz signed to Def Jam, and the humongous label released Flatlinerz's first and only effort to date, "U.S.A", which remains one of Def Jam's most polarizing releases today. In late 1993, Flatlinerz signed to Def Jam, and the humongous label released Flatlinerz's first and only effort to date, "U.S.A", which remains one of Def Jam's most polarizing releases today. Although others have performed this style before them, Flatlinerz were the first act to coin their style horrorcore, a tagline that was made during the production of "U.S.A". Due to its topics of satanism, gory murder and overall dark themes, it failed to sell that well, and reportedly only sold a little over 36,000 copies. In 1995, the trio decided to disband, and the members went on to do little-to-no activity in the rap scene.
