Empyrium
Black Metal, Folk, Classical

Empyrium is a German symphonic folk metal band which was formed in 1994 by Markus Stock and Andres Bach. Together the two released twoalbums A Wintersunset and Song of Moors and Misty Fields. However after these two albums Andreas Bach left Empyrium and Thomas Helmtook hisplace. Together Stock and Helm also released two albums, Where at Night the Wood Grouse Play and Weiland which are much more acousticalbumsand feature no harsh vocals like those found on the first two albums. The two newer albums are classified as neofolk and contain folkinstrumentssuch as violins and cellos as opposed to the keyboards found on the first two releases. After the release of Weiland, Empyrium decided to call itquitsand stopped recording.
