Established back in 1996, it is now ten years that the Austrian band Dornenreich stand for unique intensive music, expressive
Germanlyrics and charismatic stage presence.
After the release of their debut-album “Nicht um zu sterben” in 1997, and their second album “Bitter ist’s dem Tod zu dienen”
(1999) onCCP-Records, when the band already claimed a reputation as an avantgardistic and individual Black-Metal-band,
their third album “Her vonwelken Nächten” has been released in 2001 on Prophecy Productions.
Leading music-magazines have referred this album as a “milestone of metal”, and have awarded best grades (Hammer 7/7;
Legacy 15/15;Sonic Seducer 10/10). In succession the album also reached the first position in the Legacy-charts, and led
Dornenreich through Europewith more than 50 concerts, where Dornenreich have toured with such different bands as
Graveworm, Marduk, Darkwell, Vintersorg,Mayhem, Red Harvest, Tenhi and Of the wand and the Moon. In 2002 Dornenreich
played two much-lauded concerts at the Wacken-Open-Air and the With-Full-Force-Festivals.
In 2005 their fourth album “Hexenwind” has been released. The different classifications for “Hexenwind” in the world-wide
press ranged from“Black Metal” and “Gothic Rock” to “Dark Pop” and even “Industrial” and “Neofolk”, which once more
underlines the genre-independetuniqueness of Dornenreich (“Hexenwind” – Orkus 9,5/10; Legacy 15/15).
Still in this year Dornenreich will release their fifth album “Durch den Traum” and will finally return to stage with a program for
acousticguitar, violin, percussion and voice for the first concerts after five years. In this special live-program Dornenreich will
connect someexcerpts from their previous albums with some never before heard songs to a haunting, dynamic wholeness,
which is as powerful as intimateand lives up to the stylistic labelling of the current program. « hide |
