Deolinda

Deolinda is a group of Portuguese folk music, inspired by folk, or "Fado" as the Portuguese call it, and their traditional origins.



The musical project started in 2006 when the brothers Pedro da Silva Martins and José Luís Martins (ex-Headed Beast of 7) invited his cousin, Ana Codeira, then lupanar singer to sing four songs they had written. Recognizing that the voice of the material is perfectly suited to the rhymes and melodies they create, also invited José Pedro Leitao, the bass lupanar (now husband of Ana Cod), to join the three, born so Deolinda.

The theme "Nobody Told believed" was included in the compilation New Talent, 2007, released by FNAC.

On April 21, 2008,was released debut album, Song to the side. Since then, in late October 2008, reached its top position, the third place, the Top Official of AFP, The Weekly of 30 best-selling albums in Portugal, having left (and re-entered) twice in earliest times, been a total of four weeks out from this table.

In October 2008, the hard side to the song became "gold record". In December 2008 , has become platinum.. During 2009, the album "next song" hits the double-platinum award, corresponding to sale of more than 40,000 units . On March 2, 2009, the disc side to the song was released in the European market by the World Connection label. In April 2009, went directly to number 8 on the sales table record World Music Charts Europe and in May rose to fourth place this same table. Also in April 2009, the group began its first European tour works in several countries, including Holland, Germany and Switzerland, returning to Portugal for several concerts in cities such as Porto, Braga and Barcelos.

The album Canção ao Lado was in 10th place in the preferences of the listeners of Radio Antena 3, a poll conducted by this station in April 2009, in which he wondered what would be the best album of Portuguese music published between 1994 and 2009, and based on a list of 100 albums released during this period

On April 23, 2010 the band debuted a new album (Two stamps and a stamp) that had the single presentation "against each other.

Their second album, Two stamps and a stamp, went straight to No. 1 in top sales and Portuguese received the platinum award in November 2010. The song I'm silly, first performed in four concerts performed in the Coliseum of Lisbon and Porto in January 2011, was immediately considered an anthem of a generation.
