Despite being Independent and considered by many to be Underground, they have enjoyed worldwide popularity.[3] They have performed concerts throughout North America, Asia, and most of Europe.[4] The brainchild of the frontman & singer known as Rogue, the band has achieved increasing success over the last two decades. For most of the band's career, they have been signed to a worldwide contract with Dancing Ferret Discs, based in Philadelphia, PA.[5] Lyrically much of the Crüxshadows' music draws its influence and subject matter from mythology, history, and dreams.[6.
