Formed in 1979 in Los Angeles, Christian Death was one of the most influential bands in the American Goth and Deathrock
scenes. The overblown stage persona and lyrical content of singer Rozz Williams were matched by the sometimes dirgey but
often-catchy guitar work of ex-Adolescents auteur Rikk Agnew.
Internal disputes and legal wrangling have to led the bizarre situation of several different bands all claiming the name "Christian
Death"; often, bands playing under this title have featured no original members of the group. The above description applies
exclusively to the original iteration of the band, featuring Rozz on vocals.
