One of the true godmothers of Japanese pop idols, Candies were a hugely popular Japanese pop trio. The group formed in 1973,
and released their first album just one year later with CBS and Sony. The group were a huge success, but they announced a
definite breakup in 1977, officially split in 1978 and left the music industry, due to musical pressure and to pursue other careers.
All of the members went on to become actresses, and former member, Miki Fujimura, even released a solo album in 1983.
Yoshiko Tanaka (aka Sue) died of breast cancer in 2011.
