Black Uhuru were the first reggae group to ever win a grammy award. The trio has produced fifteen albums and have been around for about twenty years until they finally disbanned in the late 90's. The word "Uhuru" is Swahili for "Freedom." Although the trio never made it big reggae fanatics often claim that they are as good as Bob Marley and Peter Tosh.
