Bird is the funk/R&B project of Japanese singer-songwriter Yuki Miura. Bird initially had quite impressive success, with her first
two albums going platinum, with the latter album, "Mindtravel", being her most successful album to date, reaching number 5 on
the Oricon charts. Following its release, however, the project's popularity began to slowly die down, and Bird was put on a brief
hiatus in 2008. In 2011, Bird continued activities with the release of its seventh full length album, "New Basic", which became
Bird's first album to not chart. Although the project absolutely died down in terms of overwhelming fame and success, it still
remains one of Japan's most critically acclaimed bands in the funk-area, both for its unique style and for the soulful vocals of
Miura.
