After the legendary Operation Ivy broke up, Jesse Michaels found himself without a band, something he had not known for the last two years. So he decided to take a break. After all, those last two years with the band were spent making records, and playing shows. One Hundred and Eighty Five to be exact.
But No one knew it would be that long. In 1994, Jesse finally came out with a band called Big Rig. They only released one EP, Expansive Heart. But it did make a mark. Of course, most of the early copies were all bought for the sake of Jesse Michaels. But soon enough, word got around about the bands fast Punk with thoughtful lyrics and their intense live shows. However the band broke up that year, with only a handful of gigs and one Ep under their belt.
