An emotionally charged band from Santa Rosa, California, Benton Falls represent everything good about the emo genre. They constructpowerful, heartfelt songs with tight instrumentation and excellent vocals from singer/guitarist Michael Richardson. Their first album, 'FightingStarlight', came out in 2001, but soon after, the second guitarist, ex-Ethel Meserve axeman Gerb, departed. Coming off none the worse forwear, Benton Falls released a second album, 'Guilt Beats Hate' in 2002, which lost none of its intensity with the loss of a bandmember. Atpresent, the band have not released much new material for a while, which is a growing concern, as it would be a terrible shame to lose such atalented, original and brilliant group as Benton Falls.
