Ataxia was an experimental rock band formed by ex-RHCP guitarist John Frusciante (guitar, vocals) and collaborator Josh
Klinghoffer (drums, vocals). They recruited Fugazi's Joe Lally (bass, vocals) to complete the lineup. The band recorded 10
songs, approximately 90 minutes of music, over a period of 4 days, playing two shows amidst the recording process. The
recording sessions resulted in two albums: Automatic Writing, released in 2004, and AW II, released in 2007.
