Apotheosis

Apotheosis is a project born late 1993 with the intent of blending symphonic and dark ambient electronics to the blackmetal sound. It wasn't long before the electronic element was ditched in order to emulate a more band oriented sound. Apotheosis is a project born late 1993 with the intent of blending symphonic and dark ambient electronics to the blackmetal sound. It wasn't long before the electronic element was ditched in order to emulate a more band oriented sound. The result was the 95 demo 'Shadows Eve', which was a collection of the best 4-track recordings. By the release of the demo, a raw version of 'The Maimed God', was recorded, and was to feature on the next release. More material was recorded through summer, till february 96, when the compiled 96 promo, which featured 3 new tracks and a cover of Total Destruction, was scrapped. The newer material, in contrast with the earlier stuff on the promo, was very different in style and of much better quality. It also included the first version of 'Raise The Dragon Banner'. By mid 1997, a new promo had been compiled.

With this material, Apotheosis signed a deal with Nocturnal Art Productions. For the next two years the band wrote two new songs, rewrote the original songs on the promo, and recorded all the guitarwork for the full-length, but by 2000 the album was put on hold. The band entered the studio in 2001 to record 'Farthest From The Sun', the only full-length release to date.
