American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Bird first gained prominence as a member of the Squirrel Nut
Zippers and,consequently, a prophet of the swing revival of the mid-90s. Since that time, Bird has shifted through a stunning
variety of musical skins bothindependently and through numerous collaborations. But even with the variety, his music can best
be described as centering around folk andsinger-songwriter tendencies. He released his eighth solo disc in 2009, titled Noble
Beast.
