Alcest is a French, one-man metal project formed by Neige (of Peste Noire, Mortifera, Amesoeurs). His earlier music often resembles black
metal, with lo-fi production and other typical characteristics of the genre. In more recent years, Neige began recording music that resembles
a
blend of dense, sometimes blackened metal and shoegaze, with lyrical themes mainly focused on nostalgia and melancholy.
