The Afro Celt Sound System are a unique but powerful band, a merge of modern dance music, traditional Celtic melodies and traditional African/Indian rhythms. Djembe and talking drums thunder underneath intricate fiddles and harps, and less identifiable traditional instruments.
The true definition of a revolving lineup, the band doesn't seem to differentiate between members and session musicians, bringing in guests from all aspects of the world music scene.

It should be noted that they were signed on a five album contract, so where they go from here is uncertain, but they will almost certainly get a new contract from someone, as the band are now the closest thing to global superstars that the World Music scene has. « hide |
