A Dozen Furies was a Texas-based metalcore band. They rose to prominence by winning MTV's Battle For Ozzfest, where eight bands battled it out for a spot on the 2005 Ozzfest tour. Prizes included $60,000 in cash, musical equipment from Gibson and a recording deal with Sanctuary Records. The twist was that only one member from each band could compete. Marc Serrano, a guitarist, was chosen to compete. On January 18, 2004, A Dozen Furies won the contest. After the show, they toured Ozzfest 2005, and later released the full-length album A Concept From Fire that included the song "An Idea and Some Rope", which was shown on Battle For Ozzfest.
