The band's music is highly technical, incorporating many layers of complex melodies with influnces ranging from metal to jazz (in the Floridian death metal tradition). The band possesses a shifting line-up, with the only consistent musician being Malone. At times the band has held members of Genesis, Cynic, King Crimson, Spastik Ink, and Dream Theater.
