Guitarist Greg Hetson's band before he joined Bad Religion.
They formed in 1979 in Los Angeles, California. Lead vocalist Keith Morris was an original member of Black Flag, co-founding the band with Greg Ginn and recording the Nervous Breakdown EP with them before suddenly departing the group in 1979. Morris formed the Circle Jerks along with guitarist Greg Hetson, bassist Roger Rogerson (formerly a classically trained guitarist), and drummer Lucky Lehrer. They formed in 1979 in Los Angeles, California. Lead vocalist Keith Morris was an original member of Black Flag, co-founding the band with Greg Ginn and recording the Nervous Breakdown EP with them before suddenly departing the group in 1979. Morris formed the Circle Jerks along with guitarist Greg Hetson, bassist Roger Rogerson (formerly a classically trained guitarist), and drummer Lucky Lehrer. They, along with such bands as Black Flag and Bad Religion, were among the preeminent punk bands of the L.A. scene in the early '80s.
Around the late 80s, Circle Jerks remained silent as Greg Hetson joined Bad Religion. They reunited for a farrewell tour in 90s and released a live album "Gig". The band reunited again in 1994 and released one album (Oddities, Abnormalities and Curiosities) this time. Sadly, Circle Jerks broke up again around when Greg Hetson would continue being in Bad Religion. The band reunited again in the early 2000s and there was talk of a new album, but it never surfaced.
