were also lesslimited than Devo's, having a variety of funny, interesting topics. Whilst it is easy to dismiss Tin Huey as just
another bandtypical of the Akron sound and paling in comparison to the competition, this could not be slightly further from the
truth, asalthough it can be more than simple to note the similarities to other experimental bands from that era, the similarities

Tin Huey were signed up in the same frenzy in which many New Wave in Ohio were signed up, and when their debut
albumContents Dislodged During Shipment (1979) failed to sell they were dropped. The album languished in obscurity since then
despite attracting such fans as dean of American rock criticism Robert Christgau (indeed this may be the reason why it was
destined to obscurity). Frontman Chris Butler would find later success with his subsequent brainchild The Waitresses whilst
saxophonistRalph Carney would become a formidable session musician (Tom Waits, B-F2s, The Black Keys). in 1999 they would
release asecond album Disinformation and has performed since. « hide |
