Nokturnal Mortum are an NSBM band from Ukraine. Their style of folk influenced black metal is orginal, diverse, and different from most black metal of its kind. The band can really only be considered NSBM because of their lyrics and imagery which are similar to that of other National Socialist bands. However their sound doesn't solely consist of NSBM influences. There is also a distinctly medieval sound which adds a great deal of individualism to the band.

Nokturnal Mortum evolved from a variety of different bands, starting in 1991 when the band Suppuration broke up. A new band by the name of Crystalline Darkness was created and by the year 1994 this band had evolved into Nokturnal Mortum. Nokturnal Mortum released their debut album Lunar Poetry in 1996 and since then they have released 4 other studio albums and various complilations/special edition cds. « hide
