Elision of Animus are a Portuguese Death Metal band hailing from Ilhavo, Aveiro. Originally created by the third trimester of 2011 under
thename"Animus", the band wrote/recorded a couple of demo tracks in the months immediate to its creation. In May 2012, the band
explorednew compositions and began writing their first press release. It was during this process that the name change occurred; a change
made inorder to individualize the band further.

Elision of Animus present themselves through "Dementia" as a flexible unit. The band have been known to combine Death Metal with
therelentless energy of Deathcore and the charisma of Progressive Metal. As of this release, it stands clear how seriously Elision of Animus
taketheir 'do it yourself'course of action. Having "Dementia" been entirely composed, recorded and produced by guitarist Daniel Pio and
vocalistRafael Moreira; it demonstrates that both dedication and determination have been prevalent throughout its creation. The band
havementioned Meshuggah, Cilice, Rings of Saturn, As I Lay Dying and Veil of Maya as a few of their influences. Their unnamed
sophomorerelease is scheduled for some time this year. They have received recognition from No Clean Singing; whom described the closer of
Dementia,'memorial', as being 'a mash-up of Deathcore, Black Metal,and Progressive.'
Elision of Animus consist of: Daniel Pio, whom plays electric and bass guitar. Rafael Moreira, whom plays drums and performs vocals on allof
the band's work thus far.
