Originally started as a musicaltheatre troupe by movie director Richard Elfman in 1972, the Mystic Knights of Oingo Boingo (as they were originally called) were used for his 1980movie, the Forbidden Zone. Oingo Boingo had many members, but Richard's younger brother Danny became the main focal point of the band, sincehe was the vocalist and a guitarist. Although together for over 17 years, Oingo Boingo is most famous for the eponymous theme song from the JohnHughes movie, Weird Science.
