Nujabes Hip-Hop |
One of Japan's premier hip-hop artists, Nujabes has to date released 2 albums, 2003's Metaphorical Music and 2005's Modal Soul. Both display a jazz-influenced sound that owes much to the heritage of Native Tongues and the invention of acts like RJD2, but stands in a sonic league all its own. Collaborations with Fat Jon, Five Deez, various Japanese rappers, and Terry Callier, along with appearances on the soundtrack to Japanese hip-hop anime series Samurai Champloo, have helped establish him as one of the most creative forces in leftfield hip-hop.
