Dark Angel are yet another of the Thrash bands that sprung from the West Coast of the US in the early 80's.
Dark Angel are considered one of the fastest, heaviest Thrash bands there was and their 2nd album, Darkness Descends is possibly the most extreme Thrash album there is. It is considered part of the sol called 'Unholy Trinity' of 1986 Thrash releases (along with Kreator's Pleasure To Kill and Slayer's Reign In Blood).
Their fourth and last album, Time Does Not Heal, is famous for coming packaged with a label reading "9 songs, 67 minutes, 246 riffs!".

There have been rumours of a reunion and a comback album, supposedly entitled 'Darkness Returns' but nothing has come of them.
Dark Angel is also noted for being the first band of heavy metal drumming legend Gene Hoglan, who went on to play with bands such as Death and Strapping Young Lad. « hide |
