Philadelphia hardcore/punk quartet Kid Dynamite was formed in 1997 by ex-Lifetime guitarist Dan Yemin, who recruited bassist Steve Ferrel and drummer/fellow Lifetime co-founder David Wagenschutz for regular practice sessions which in time yielded a vocal-free demo cassette. With the addition of singer Jason Shevchuk, the group played their first live dates, and upon completing the demo signed to Jade Tree to issue their self-titled debut LP in 1998.
