Shihad started out in 1988 hailing from Wellington, New Zealand, before making their official base in Melbourne, Australia in 1997. They have released several albums, including a live double disc album. Shihad also periodically changed their name to Pacifier after the September 11 attacks, but are now back to their original name. Shihad started out as a raw more metallic industrial band, but over the years have refined their own sound to a more mainstream rock style, with exception to their latest release Love Is The New Hate which brings them more back to their earlier sound.
