Snake Fetus is a band based in Calgary Alberta. This young band has become renowned within the local scene for their
intriguing stage presence and strange antics such as dressing up, dressing down, abandoning instruments to join the crowd,
and laying on the stage while creating dissonance with their guitars. To avoid becoming another one of the 'hardcore' bands
in the over saturated Calgary music scene, they play or host shows with as many different genre acts as possible and create

Snake Fetus is a band based in Calgary Alberta. This young band has become renowned within the local scene for their
intriguing stage presence and strange antics such as dressing up, dressing down, abandoning instruments to join the crowd,
and laying on the stage while creating dissonance with their guitars. To avoid becoming another one of the 'hardcore' bands
in the over saturated Calgary music scene, they play or host shows with as many different genre acts as possible and create
ever changing strange genres to label themselves with. Snake Fetus has even opened and hosted dubstep shows to promote
their appreciation of dancing and having a good time all the time. Although to an experienced headbanger Snake Fetus could
be labeled 'Psych Prog Metal' the band has appeared on show posters or expressed themselves as strange genres such as
'Dance Metal', 'Dream Funk', and 'Pretentious Metal: For Jaded Bastards'. Snake Fetus has recorded an EP entitled 'Fake
Sunset' which is an anagram for the bands name. They are in the process of recording their full length which will be titled
'Sun Sounds'. Snake Fetus's lyrical content consists of deep metaphors and twisted concepts which remain open to
interpretation. When asked, Graham Reich, the drummer of Snake Fetus, who writes most of the bands lyrics with the help
of Mark Lingelbach (Guitars and Vocals), Graham likes to keep it vague, suggesting that Snake Fetus is all about the process
of expanding the minds boundaries through evolving concepts such as drugs, dreams, meditation, and spirituality. Snake
Fetus hosts an intimate local show with dubstep acts, hip hop acts, metal bands, and indie bands every month as well as
playing a monthly dubstep show with their friend/DJ L.A.rose. This has expanded their audience to include many different
kinds of people as Snake Fetus is a very open minded band. « hide |
