Trial Kennedy
Rock

Trial Kennedy’s beginning was simple. Two friends jamming, and then after a meeting set up by their guitar teacher a band was formed and the line up complete. The band’s original direction was “to write songs that brought out the best in each member, while being uniquely us”. Trial Kennedy have wasted no time implementing this through a relentless live schedule. Sharing the stage with some of Australia’s finest bands including Bodyjar, The Butterfly Effect, Machine Gun Fellatio, 28 Days, Nokturnl and Superheist has only strengthened the bands energetic and tight live performance.

Trial Kennedy have already captured the ears of Triple M listeners thanks to the heavy rotation of an early single “Simple”. This then led to a Triple M showcase before a packed house at Melbourne’s Mercury Lounge. In late 2003 the band were asked by local indie label Helltrack Records to provide a song for the 2CD benefit compilation “Action Against Cruelty” which featured the best of Australian and international hardcore, rock and metal bands. Enter renowned producer Kalju Tonuma (28 Days, Bodyjar) who produced the emotive “Song For Sense” that captured Trial Kennedy’s distinct and highly recognizable sound.

Since then, the relationship between the label and the band has gone from strength to strength. Trial Kennedy now call Helltrack Records home and have released their debut EP, “Present For A Day”, this September.

With the dynamic force and melodic rock of bands like The Foo Fighters, Eskimo Joe and The Juliana Theory, Trial Kennedy are creating challenging and addictive music which will see the band become one of the most exciting prospects to come out of Melbourne in recent years. « hide
